Senior Citizen Age Requirement

As we tend to get older, the thought of referring to one self as a “senior citizen” can seem somewhat disheartening. Many people assume that a senior citizen is someone who has retired at the age of 65 but some organizations such as the American Association of Retired Persons only requires couples who have one spouse who have reached the ripe age of 50 to join.

Although many fear the term, there are several benefits to becoming a senior citizen. Many businesses have used the term to market to the elderly and offer substantial discounts for those of a certain age. Many restaurant chains, movie theaters, and chain stores offer discounts to seniors may of which have different requirement ages to participate.
